BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY - SURREY, England. UK.

Two this Month, not beers but Bank Holidays, one Today 6th May and one later in the Month. A time to get away from it all - far away for some - locally for others me included.


May is the Month of the May Pole Dance and  my 1st stop was Egham where Ranging Poles were being used on the building site of the new Travel Lodge Hotel a Waitrose Hotel venture. A short walk from the Railway Station .

On then and down across the Public footpaths  of the Runnymede Green and Old Pagent area towards the River Thames  and it's walkway and towards the  Runnymede Hotel Breakfast Buffet.



Breakfast Coffee in The Runnymede Hotel and then West along the river to the Magna Carta Tea Rooms for English Breakfast and Tea.

Up the Hill to the Spa Savill Court Hotel a Macdonalds Hotel at Englefield Green for swim and steam with shower and Lunch of Soup of the Day.



Round to the Sun Pub and Electric Cycles to ask for Sponsorship on the Prudential Free London Cycle Day coming up - good response there.

Along the backroads to Savill Gardens for Cream and Jam Scone and Coffee and diagonally back to Virginia Water via the Totempole and  Windsor Royal Park and Virginia Water Lake.



A refresment at the Wheatsheef to see the building of the New Lake Entrance Tea Kiosk on the A30 and one last stop at Laithwaites across the road to Taste a Barolo from Italy which had been offered.

Nice circular walk with the SWT link of the 8.19 am train fromVirginia Water to Egham giving a flying start at 8.19 am home by 4.30 pm.

Happy Bank Holiday the River Bank was fine too.
