Travel and Events.: Leaking Pipe - Levellling Screed helps save Vinyl Flooring ,until it was removed sodden damp underneath

Ten years have been and gone since the upheaval of the burst water pipe found beneath our bedroom floor.
One night we lay sleeping and heard a hissing noise as if one of us had left the tap on - it wasn't on - so I traced the route lying with my ear to the carpet and where it was noiseiest the carpet was warm and dampish - sure enough a Water Leak which turned out to a pitted pipe in a screeded channel in the concrete floor.

You can see the damage which was caused , many many many weeks later we were back to normal.

Ten years 2013 on almost to the day" hissss" I heard a rushing noise from the Mono Block in the Bathroom ensuite to the Bedroom - you could here it anywhere you listened to the taps through out the house - but where is the Leak ?

I phoned Gas Boiler HomeCover which includes the Plumbing Option and they sent a Dyno-Rod Plumber who confirmed the Leak was on the Cold Feed Mains Supply to all Appliances but where he could not tell so has instructed a Leak Test Locator also Dyno-Rod to come here on Monday next and he will tell us where on the floor to dig and open the concrete to sort the Leak.

After a day airing it was still damp and I brgan to look at the Plinths of the Kitchen fitments which were chipboard and swollen and therefore now await Friday - the return of the men to dig up and expose the broken pipe.

Had my dinner in the Garden quite late letting the room air and got a bonus of this view at Sunset.

Next few days they came to find and fix it .

This took a while due to the pipe lying on the concrete bed surrounded and topped off with 4 inches of screed so Sonic detector was similar along the length, it was eventually traced by watching the particles flow in the water.

All ok now just to use the Dehumidifier for a while !

eMiddle of October and DynoRod arrived to fill the dried out holes in the screed . They lagged the pipes and added almost all the Screed mix they had and said we'll be back once it dries out and level it smooth.
