Bursting the Flood - 12th Januray 2017

Phew ! I got home to a Flood last night what a bloody flood it was , all across my gravel drive what was the reason not because.

It was because of the Drain blocked next door where  the Stop Cock was dripping and all of the Sewage was leaking and hitting, the upstand which was rising and therefore  surmising it was a Burst Pipe was just complete conjecture.

In my time we called it a Blockage in Drains taking stock of things that had happened, when home from my walking, from work to my door....https://youtu.be/cdIXgKyhtbM

Just to clean up now ...in the spring perhaps !

In Memory of John Chick - cousin on my Female side of the Family

This Rose 'Penny Lane' was planted on Friday 10th April 2016 in memory of John Chick my cousin aged 67 - Melrose Borders Hospital, pain ward, Scotland.

I chose this colour as John and I often watched football on TV on Saturday afternoons eating Cockles a traditional English Dish -  in his home - my Lodging in 1978 - near the Thithe Farm Pub.South Harrow (now a modern housing)

John was inspected by his Doc. and asked to go in to Hospital where he passed away due to Cancer within 2 weeks .

The Family  with friends locally in Kelso will scatter his ashes in the River Tweed in memorial . His  Mum my Aunt went to Wembley Grammer with my Mother in 1934

John  served after school worked in a Fishmongers, Managed Kenning Car hire on the A30 near Heathrow Airport commuting back and forth to Sudbury Hill and  in Saudi Arabia as Laundry Manager to the Hospital in Khamis Mushayt with Witickers(US), on return with ill health (Hepatitis) he then moved to the West Country and finally Kelso.
John was a keen Jazz fan as was his father Jack .

When the Saints come marching in ..they will be rolling their own Ciggies with the Ritzla Machines you broke John.
