Windsor Castle Round Tower and Moat Garden

A chance when the Royal residents are mostly away for the Public to visit the Round Tower Roof - up 200 steps -  plus some and a hill, to get there.

Most enjoyable day for a while and I had actually helped out a bit during the Tower Refurbishment into it's present form - that was away back in the 1980's.with Bucknall Austin in Slough.

Here are some quick snaps of the day out - Train and back through Staines being Sunday and Bank Holiday I was impressed with the service provided by SWT.

Why I enjoyed it so much was explained in the Moat on Video back in the 1980's we were part of it being remodeled into it's present form , an Archive for Royal Gifts - to hear the History as far back as the Castle Commandants accommodation was interesting, both Cromwell and Henry 8th were mentioned. A Brewery , Windsoir and Eton Brewery is just a short walk from the Castle along the Thames River bank and under the Railway Viaduct which takes the train to Slough.
